Chemical & Industrial Processing
Chemical plants and industrial facilities depend on clean steam, air, gas, and vapor for production, utilities, and environmental control.

Plant Steam and Utility Distribution
PRODUCT USED
Anderson Centrifugal Receiver Separator
WHY IT IS USED
High-volume steam, air, gas, and vapor lines may experience heavy liquid loading or intermittent slugs. The receiver-style separator combines efficient mechanical separation with added sump capacity, helping prevent liquid carryover into process equipment and utility users while minimizing system resistance.
Process-Vessel, Storage-Tank, and Utility Vents
PRODUCT USED
Anderson Exhaust Head
WHY IT IS USED
Exhaust heads remove entrained water, oil, process liquor, and solids from atmospheric discharge streams. The CEH is a compact choice with options available for smaller steam and vapor vents or larger stacks and demanding liquid carryover, both protect; the fabricated EH serves larger stacks and more demanding liquid carryover. Both protect nearby equipment, structures, roofs, and work areas from wet exhaust and fallout.
High-Efficiency Gas, Vapor, and Steam Separation
PRODUCTS USED
Anderson Inline Vane Separator or Vertical Vane Separator
WHY THEY ARE USED
Pocket-Type vane technology is suited to processes where fine mist, aerosols, condensate, or recoverable product must be removed with low pressure drop. The AVS installs inline for continuous gas, vapor, air, or steam service. The AVGS adds an inlet disengagement zone and bulk knockout capacity for higher liquid-to-gas ratios, heavy incoming liquid, or slugging.
Feed-Gas Purification, Catalyst Protection, and Final Polishing
PRODUCTS USED
Anderson Centrifugal Separator with Coalescing Mesh or Anderson Coalescing Filter
WHY THEY ARE USED
Chemical manufacturing, industrial-gas, compressed-air, and plant-utility systems may contain fine aerosols and particulate that affect catalysts, product quality, instruments, burners, dryers, and process equipment. The CL Series bridges the gap between conventional mechanical separation and cartridge filtration by combining reusable coalescing mesh with centrifugal separation. The ACF is selected when high-cleanliness gas and final polishing are required; configurable first-stage separation removes bulk liquid and solids before the coalescing elements, reducing element loading and lifecycle cost.
Multistage Gas Filtration for Process and Utility Systems
PRODUCT USED
Anderson Vertical Filter Separator
WHY IT IS USED
Chemical plants, industrial-gas systems, and manufacturing facilities may need combined liquid and solid removal where a simple separator is insufficient or standalone cartridges would load too quickly. The AFS Series uses mechanical pre-separation to remove bulk contamination, cartridge media to capture solids and coalesce mist, and a final Anderson separation element to remove remaining liquid. The design protects compressors, turbines, dryers, treatment systems, and other high-value equipment while extending cartridge service life.
Evaporator, Concentrator, and Process-Vessel Entrainment Control
PRODUCTS USED
Anderson Internal Centrifugal Separator
WHY THEY ARE USED
Evaporators, concentrators, deodorizers, vapor scrubbers, receivers, and process vessels can lose product or contaminate downstream condensate when droplets leave with the vapor stream. Vessel-mounted Anderson Hi-eF™ internals remove 99% of entrainment 10 microns and larger, improving product recovery, condensate quality, and downstream equipment protection with low pressure drop. Upflow and downflow configurations fit the process, and disassemblable models facilitate retrofit through a standard manway.
High-Capacity Gas and Vapor Contaminant Removal
PRODUCT USED
Anderson Multi-Cyclone Separator
WHY IT IS USED
Industrial gas and vapor systems with high throughput, heavy liquid loading, slugging, or solids require robust separation before turbines, compressors, meters, valves, storage systems, or process equipment. The AMCS uses parallel cyclone tubes for efficient contaminant removal and can be engineered with horizontal or vertical bodies, single- or double-stacked arrays, velocity-reduction devices, inspection access, and blowdown provisions.
Primary Knockout Ahead of Process Equipment
PRODUCT USED
Anderson Centrifugal Receiver Separator
WHY IT IS USED
Installed before compressors, dryers, filters, coalescers, valves, regulators, or packaged equipment, the separator removes bulk liquid and mist before those components must handle it. This reduces fouling and corrosion, protects operating performance, and supports more predictable maintenance.
Boiler Steam Quality
PRODUCT USED
Anderson Steam Drum Internal Vane Bank
WHY IT IS USED
Facilities with water-tube boilers can use an internal vane bank to improve separation of saturated steam and water inside the drum. Captured droplets coalesce in shielded vane pockets and drain by gravity, reducing re-entrainment and helping deliver dry steam to downstream plant users.
Compressed Air, Heat Exchanger, and Utility-Line Protection
PRODUCTS USED
Anderson Centrifugal Line Separators or Centrifugal Separator
WHY THEY ARE USED
Installed in compressor suction and discharge lines, intercooler and aftercooler service, heat-exchanger circuits, or upstream of dryers and analyzers, centrifugal separators remove moisture, oil, and solids before they affect production equipment. LC-family units cover smaller lines, LS/LUS models address larger industrial piping, and LCC/LCCR models add an inlet filter element for higher-purity requirements. The Type TL provides robust ASME construction and low-pressure-drop operation for larger and more demanding services.
Compact Separation and Automatic Drainage
PRODUCT USED
Anderson Combination Separator Trap
WHY IT IS USED
Manufacturing, chemical processing, food processing, industrial heating, and utility systems can use the threaded 81S or flanged 81F on small steam, air, gas, or vapor lines. The separator removes 99% of liquids and solids 10 microns and larger, while the optional integral float trap automatically discharges condensate without loss of service media. Combining both functions reduces installation complexity and helps protect heat exchangers, compressed-air equipment, and process systems.
Continuous-Service Duplex Filtration and Cooling
PRODUCT USED
HYCOA 6-Way or Linked 3-Way Transfer Valve
WHY IT IS USED
Chemical processing, steel and heavy industry, marine systems, and OEM skids use duplex filters, coolers, and heat exchangers to maintain production during maintenance. HYCOA transfer valves switch online and standby equipment in one coordinated motion, maintain flow during the changeover, and provide zero-leak isolation for safer service of the offline component.
Demanding Process-Steam and Heating Service
PRODUCTS USED
Clark Inverted Bucket Steam Trap
WHY THEY ARE USED
Autoclaves, sterilizers, cooking kettles, stills, evaporators, water heaters, cylinder and drum dryers, and industrial heat-transfer equipment need reliable condensate discharge to sustain thermal performance. Fabricated-steel inverted bucket traps provide rugged service, renewable stainless-steel internals, and connection options for demanding installations; the C180 is selected for the highest pressure and temperature conditions.
Anderson products help separate entrained liquid and solids at the point where they can impair equipment, contaminate a process, or create wet atmospheric discharge.
