Natural Gas & Gas Processing

From production and gathering to transmission, distribution, and final fuel-gas use, entrained liquids can reduce throughput and damage critical equipment.

Anderson separators provide rugged, low-maintenance gas-liquid separation for high-volume streams, heavy liquid loading, and demanding pressure-vessel service.

Compressor Inlet and Interstage Protection

PRODUCT USED
Anderson Centrifugal Receiver Separator

WHY IT IS USED
Liquid slugs and mist entering a compressor can contribute to corrosion, fouling, unstable operation, and equipment damage. The receiver-style vessel combines bulk knockout, impingement, centrifugal separation, and ample liquid storage to protect compressors during normal operation and transient liquid surges. Horizontal, vertical down-flow, and vertical up-flow arrangements provide flexibility for station and skid layouts.

Upstream Protection for Dryers, Filters, Coalescers, and Gas-Conditioning Equipment

PRODUCT USED
Anderson Centrifugal Receiver Separator

WHY IT IS USED
Removing bulk entrainment ahead of fine filtration or conditioning equipment reduces the liquid load carried into later treatment stages. This helps extend service intervals, limit fouling, and maintain the performance of downstream dryers, filters, coalescers, contactors, valves, regulators, and controls.

Gathering, Transmission, Distribution, and OEM Gas Packages

PRODUCT USED
Anderson Centrifugal Receiver Separator

WHY IT IS USED
High-capacity gas networks and packaged compressor skids need separation equipment that fits the process and piping arrangement. Anderson LRH, LRV, and LRU models offer application-specific nozzle layouts, carbon- or stainless-steel construction, and manual, automatic, or system-integrated condensate management. Standard units remove 99% of entrainment 10 microns and larger, with engineered designs available for higher pressure and temperature requirements.

Glycol, Amine, and Absorption-Liquid Recovery

PRODUCTS USED
Anderson Inline Vane Separator or Vertical Vane Separator

WHY THEY ARE USED
Gas leaving glycol contactors and absorption systems can entrain valuable glycol, amine, or absorption oil. Pocket-Type vanes force repeated directional changes that cause droplets to impinge, coalesce, collect in shielded pockets, and drain with minimal re-entrainment. Recovering carried-over liquid helps protect downstream equipment, reduce product loss, and improve process reliability.

Pipeline Moisture Removal and Metering Protection

PRODUCTS USED
Anderson Centrifugal Line Separators or Centrifugal Separator

WHY THEY ARE USED
Gathering, transmission, and distribution lines require dependable removal of condensed liquid and solids ahead of regulators, analyzers, metering stations, dryers, and other sensitive equipment. The TL can also serve as a first-stage knockout ahead of coalescing filters or fine-mist equipment.

Compressor Service

PRODUCTS USED
Anderson Centrifugal Separator with Coalescing Mesh or Anderson Coalescing Filter

WHY THEY ARE USED
Fine aerosols, lubricating-oil mist, glycol carryover, and small particulate can pass through conventional bulk separators and impair compressor engines, molecular sieve systems, desiccant beds, membranes, regulators, meters, and analyzers.

Small-Line Automatic Moisture Separation

PRODUCT USED
Anderson Combination Separator Trap

WHY IT IS USED
On smaller process-gas or compressed-air lines, the threaded 81S or flanged 81F removes 99% of liquids and solids 10 microns and larger. An optional integral float trap drains collected condensate automatically without gas or air blow-by, simplifying installation where persistent moisture, condensate slugs, or limited space make separate separation and drainage equipment less practical.

Transmission, Storage, and Processing Gas Filtration

PRODUCT USED
Anderson Filter Separator

WHY IT IS USED
Gas entering compressor stations, regulating stations, storage fields, dehydrating plants, treating plants, or fuel-gas systems can carry water, lube oil, fine mist, and solids. The AFS Series removes bulk liquid before cartridge filtration, then uses a final separation stage to capture coalesced liquid before clean gas exits. This three-stage approach reduces cartridge loading, protects compressors and valves, helps prevent desiccant-bed damage and catalyst fouling, and delivers 99% removal of liquid and solid particles 3 microns and larger.

Duplex Compressor Lube-Oil and Cooler Changeover

PRODUCT USED
HYCOA 6-Way or Linked 3-Way Transfer Valve

WHY IT IS USED
Compressor stations and packaged gas systems often use duplex filters or coolers so one component can remain online while the other is serviced. The HYCOA valve simultaneously redirects inlet and return flow, maintains circulation during changeover, and provides positive isolation with zero-leak performance. This supports continuous compressor lubrication and reduces the footprint and coordination required by multiple manual valves.

Vessel-Internal Gas-Liquid Separation

PRODUCTS USED
Anderson Internal Centrifugal Separator

WHY THEY ARE USED
Receivers, knockout drums, towers, and other process vessels can use internal Hi-eF™ separation elements to remove residual liquid and solids before gas or vapor exits to compressors or downstream processing. The internals remove 99% of entrainment 10 microns and larger with low pressure drop and no filters, screens, or moving parts.

High-Flow Pipeline, Compression, and Storage Protection

PRODUCT USED
Anderson Multi-Cyclone Separator

WHY IT IS USED
Compressor-station suction, transmission pipelines, meter installations, storage fields, and dehydrating systems may face high gas flow, heavy liquid loading, slugging, or solid contamination. Multiple cyclone tubes provide high-throughput mechanical separation, while an inlet knockout chamber removes bulk liquid before the gas reaches the cyclone array. This protects compressors, meters, valves, and storage assets, preserves measurement accuracy, and supports product recovery without moving parts, filter elements, or liquid scrubbing media.
