HYCOA Linked 3-Way Transfer Valve
Linked 3-Way
A mechanically linked pair of 3-way valves that switches supply and return flow paths simultaneously.
The panel switches between the two transfer valves that carry a duplex system: the 6-way and the Linked 3-Way. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom. X-ray and cutaway open the body, Color code parts names the assemblies, and Play walkthrough steps the changeover and the internal stack removal.

Overview
The HYCOA JR-33 Linked 3-Way Transfer Valve is a high-performance, zero-leak, directional switching valve for critical duplex filter, cooler, and lube-oil systems. It uses HYCOA’s unique retractable Shoe Seal and mechanical lockdown design to deliver zero leakage, zero frictional drag, and simple, low-torque manual operation.
Designed for
HYCOA valves were designed for critical duplex systems that must isolate and service standby equipment without stopping flow. They help prevent contamination, protect bearings and rotating equipment, and support continuous operation in API 614-style lube-oil systems, turbine lubrication circuits, filtration packages, coolers, and heat exchangers.
Key points of differentiation
-
Low-torque switching. Retractable Shoe Seal minimizes frictional drag.
-
Zero-leak isolation. Prevents bypass and cross-port leakage.
-
Synchronized changeover. One motion switches all flow paths.
-
Compact integration. Reduces skid footprint and piping complexity.
-
Continuous-service design. Maintains operation during critical equipment isolation.
-
Configurable construction. Multiple porting, connection, size, and material options.
Applications
HYCOA transfer valves are primarily used where duplex equipment must be switched without interrupting flow:
-
Duplex liquid filter systems: Isolates one filter vessel for element replacement while the other remains online.
-
Duplex coolers and heat exchangers: Switches inlet and outlet flow paths simultaneously for maintenance.
-
API 614 lube-oil systems: Supports continuous lubrication for turbines, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
-
Hydraulic and process-oil filtration systems: Maintains fluid circulation during vessel changeover.
-
Fuel-oil and water-based industrial-fluid systems: Provides positive isolation between online and standby equipment.
-
OEM lubrication and filtration skids: Reduces piping complexity and replaces multiple coordinated manual valves.
Typical industries include power generation, refining and petrochemical, natural-gas transmission, chemical processing, steel and heavy industry, marine systems, and OEM skid fabrication.
Principle of operation
A HYCOA transfer valve uses retractable Shoe Seals and mechanical flow-path switching to transfer service between duplex components without interrupting system flow.
Operating sequence:
Equalize pressure between the online and standby vessels.
Unseat the Shoe Seals by turning the T-handle counterclockwise.
Fully retract the seals from the valve bore, eliminating seal drag during rotation.
Rotate the operating handle 180° to redirect the flow paths; the indicator arrow identifies the active ports.
Reseat the Shoe Seals by turning the T-handle clockwise.
Mechanically lock the seals against the valve body to provide positive, zero-leak isolation.
Close the equalizing valve to complete the changeover.
In a linked 3-way arrangement, two mechanically coupled valves perform the same synchronized changeover.
